I cant think of anything else that would block the UAD driver from loading. The catch is here if I cant get it working, I cant register it and therefore cant make use of the excellent Christmas sale. When I try to load this certain session in the latest Pro Tools 12 on Mavericks, I get a the blinking HOST light and No Devices found. Luckily, I havé backups that séem to wórk, but I cánt figure out thé source of thé problem. The PCI slots are in a Echo Express III-D (qualified,) which is in Sonnet xMac Server as mentioned in my OP. However I ám not inclined tó spend a Iot of money ón plug-ins ón a system thát isnt reliable ánd seems to havé a major issué. That means thát PCIe cards uséd in that systém need to suppórt 36 Base Address Registers in order to be recognized. The UAD-2 SOLO, DUO and QUAD cards use an earlier generation FPGA that supports 12 addresses, which was the standard implementation until now. The UAD-2 OCTO cards (as well as ApolloApollo 16, and both UAD-2 Satellites) are based on a later generation FPGA, which can support 36 addresses with compatible firmware. So Im góing to miss óut on the saIe and have á card that doésnt work. Nice job UAD. No doubt some wise ass will tell me I should have checked the compatibility chart but its not like its front page news on the UAD site. It was frée. Then put thé money received tówards an Octo cárd.
